Packet Pick-up time
If you have already registered for the 5K and would like to pick up your race day packet and bib early, please stop by the Health, Fitness & Recreation Center on campus and visit the entrance desk for assistance. Early packet pick-up will be Friday, Oct. 30 from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Packet pick-up will also be available on race day until 7:30 a.m.

Day of Registration
If you forgot to register early for the Halloween 5K, registration will still be open on the morning of the race. Registration will be open on Sat., Oct. 31 from 6:30 a.m.-7:45 a.m. Please plan accordingly if you need to register in person. T-shirts are not guaranteed for day of race registrants.
What is the Halloween 5K?
The Moraine Valley Health, Fitness & Recreation Center will be hosting our 2nd annual Halloween 5K run/walk in conjunction with the Moraine Valley Foundation. Proceeds from the race will go toward the Moraine Valley Foundation which provides need-based scholarships to students including FitRec employees. By participating, you can make a difference in the lives of students by helping them afford a college education. Because it is Halloween costumes are encouraged. Strollers are allowed on the course.
Route
The scenic USATF-IL certified course takes you around and through the Moraine Valley campus paved trail. For a map of the route, click here.
Little Pumpkin’s Patch
Free children’s activities supervised by FitRec youth programming staff while you run/walk. Free family activities during and after the race. Activities include: Bounce house, pumpkin decorating, face painting, Halloween activities, mummy race, trunk-or-treating, and more.
The Little Pumpkin’s Patch will open at 7:30 a.m. Halloween games and activities are open from 7:30-10 a.m.
- 8:30 a.m. – Monster Pinatas
- 9 a.m. – Mummy Race
- 9:30 a.m. – Costume Contest
- 9:45 a.m. – Trunk or Treating
Registration for the Little Pumpkins Patch is free but required.
Participants are encouraged to get in the spirit and decorate their cars for trunk or treating.
Children’s 1K Race
For children 5-12 years old, we have our Children’s 1K race (registration required). This route takes you through Moraine Valley’s campus. For a map of the route, click here.
Sponsors
Sponsorship opportunities are available. Sponsors will have the opportunity to set up a table and hang a banner or signs at the event. Additionally, logos of our sponsors will be listed on the back of the race shirts given to participants. We would like to thank Pepsi for donating water to the event and the MVCC Culinary Department for the post-race snacks and treats.
Race Divisions for Awards
The race will be officially timed by J3 Events, Inc. Winner from each division will receive a prize. Ages group will be 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90+.
