Every year, on the first Saturday in June, the WILDEST race in the country is held on the beautiful grasslands of Eastern Colorado. The Into the Wild Running Festival offers a 5K, 10K, and Family Fun Walk/Run on scenic courses that weave between Lion, Tiger, Bear and other wild animal habitats at the largest carnivore sanctuary in the world.

About 30 miles outside of Denver in Keenesburg, Colorado, The Wild Animal Sanctuary is home to over 460 rescued large carnivores including  Lions, Tigers, Bears, Leopards, Mountain Lions, Wolves, and a few smaller carnivores such as Servals, Bobcats, Lynx, Foxes, Coyote and Coati Mundi. Almost all have been rescued from abusive or illegal situations, but now live in large open habitats and are not forced to be front-and-center just so people can see them easier.

The Into the Wild Running Festival is a unique opportunity for the whole family to participate in supporting the sanctuary. There is live music, face painting, expo vendors, and free food and drink. Registration in any of the events includes a custom tech shirt, running cap, finisher medal, and entry into the sanctuary that day (a $30.00 value). Come on out for an amazing, once-in-a lifetime experience and help hundreds of rescued animals!
