First Annual Prevent Child Abuse 3K Walk/Run. This event will raise money for the Lowndes County Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse. Every April we celebrate Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month. The national campaign aims to make communities and families aware of what constitutes child abuse and how it can be prevented. In Lowndes County, Prevent Child Abuse is a community organization made up of school counselors, child welfare workers, advocates, and others who work to help victims and fight against child abuse.
