TIKIM (a Filipino word that means “to taste”) is a one-of-a-kind 5K fun run or walk that celebrates Filipino culture and the value of giving back through loads of happiness and tons of Filipino food.
You can run this event all out or you can stop and taste the fabulous food along the way. Either way, you will have have a blast!
Imagine a 5K fun run course with a Filipino
food tasting station at each kilometer of the way. Each station is a
celebration of different Filipino tastes, featuring matamis (sweet), maanghang
(spicy), maalat (salty) and maasim (sour). As you cross the finish line, a food
festival featuring favorite, popular and traditional Filipino dishes awaits.
Open to all ages, gender and races, TFC (The Filipino Channel) wants to bring
to Tampa the excitement that Filipino cuisine – traditional or fusion -
is generating all over the world. TIKIM Filipino Food Fun Run is a celebration
of everything about family, fitness, fun and Filipino food flavors! It is sure
to delight every member of the family, and sure to satisfy any curious foodie.
Not only will your run be fun, but it’s also a
way to give back, as part of the proceeds of the TIKIM Fun Run registration
will be donated to the feeding program of Bantay Bata (the Child Watch program
of ABS-CBN Foundation International). Each Adult Runner registration provides
meals to 10 malnourished children in the Philippines.
ALL REGISTERED RUNNERS WILL RECEIVE a great race shirt, custom finisher medals, disposable bib chip timing, live results online, FREE finish line photos to download into social media AND FREE ADMISSION to the post race festival where you can eat more great food, have a drink and watch some great cultural events.
