Great trail run on portions of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail and sections of a new single track mountain bike course in the heart of the Yadkin Valley, Elkin, NC.

The EVTA 8th Annual Insane Terrain 5K and 10K trail races start at the Elkin Municipal Park and take advantage of new trails and bridges along the Big Elkin Creek. Enjoy the beautiful scenery including waterfalls, mountain terrain, wildflowers and the fall colors.
All runners, hikers, walkers are welcome! All money raised goes to the EVTA for trail building/maintenance!

Races start and finish on the trail behind Elkin Recreation and Parks Center, 399 Highway 268 West Elkin, NC 28621. Course support ends at 11:00 AM. Finishers completing the race after 11:00 AM may not be included in final results.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Insane Terrain 5K and 10K will be done in a safe, socially-distanced manner with a time-trial race format. Awards will be based on the fastest finish time of each runner.
- Both races will be held IN-PERSON on Saturday, December 12th at Elkin Recreation and Parks Center
- Runners must register for a 30-minute start time at either 8:30, 9:00 or 9:30 AM. No more than 50 runners will be assigned to each 30-minute wave.
- You should plan to arrive at the starting area approximately 30 minutes prior to the start time you selected during registration. To limit the number of people gathering, if you arrive early please wait in your car until the half-hour window prior to your race.
- You must wear a face mask from the time you arrive until you are in position at the starting area.
- During your 30-minute arrival window, proceed to the check-in area where you will answer COVID-19 screening questions and sign a waiver, have your temperature checked, and receive your race bib.
- You may remove your mask at the starting line just before the start of the race.
- After you have crossed the finish line, please put your mask back on, grab a bottled water, then pick up your swag bag and head home to check out the LIVE results online.
- Race awards will be available for pickup after the race - Date and location to be announced.
There will be no early packet pickup or race day registration. Runners must be registered by 6:00 PM Friday, December 11, 2020.
