The Dump Run

The Dump Run includes the (1) The Dump Run Quarter Marathon and (2) The Dump Run 5K.  The Quarter Marathon begins at 8 AM and the 5K will start at 8:30 AM.   Information on both races is shown below.

The Dump Run is professionally timed by Karma Race Management of Brainerd.  Our race announcer, Chad, will announce participants as they cross the finish line.   Great music, food and bottled water adds to the overall festive atmosphere.

1.  THE DUMP RUN QUARTER MARATHON – August 3, 2019, 8:00 am
The 32nd annual The Dump Run Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles), sponsored by Paulbeck’s County Market, takes runners through a scenic course on pavement and gravel road. This nostalgic route takes us by the old dump, past a water stop on old 169 and then north on old 169 to Paulback's County Market in Aitkin.  Although some consider it challenging, all consider it rewarding to find themselves crossing the finish line. This quarter marathon course is USATF certified.


Race Costs
$25 through July 26th and $30 starting July 27th.  

Start:

The quarter marathon will begin at Pine Lake Access (near Hickory Lake).  Participants will be bused to the starting line at 7:30 am from the parking lot of Paulbeck’s County Market.  Water stations will be located on the course and refreshments will be available at finish line.

Kids Fun Run Race

A Kids’ Fun Race will begin and end at the Finish Line, located in the parking lot of Paulbeck’s County Market.  The distance is approximately 100 yards.  Register on site race morning.  Kid’s registration is free.

T-Shirts and Awards:

All registered participants will receive a T-shirt featuring The Dump Run Garbage Truck.  Register by Wednesday July 24th to guarantee receipt of T-shirt on race day.

The top 3 men overall and top 3 women overall of the Quarter Marathon will receive awards.  The first place overall finishers will each receive $75 in Aitkin Bucks; the second place overall finishers will each receive a $50 Paulbeck’s County Market gift card; and the third place overall finishers will each receive a $25 Paulbeck’s County Market gift card.  The top 3 runners in each age category (men’s and women’s) will receive race recognition.

Drawing for door prizes will take place after the overall The Dump Run awards ceremony – must be present to win.

Men’s and Women’s Divisions: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

Packet Pickup:

Race packet pickup is available at Block North (across from the Beanery) in downtown Aitkin on Friday, August 2nd from 5:00 – 8:00pm. A Spaghetti Dinner will take place during packet pickup.  Beer, wine and coffee drinks will be available for purchase and live music begins at 8pm.  Packets will also be available at race site on Saturday morning at 6:30 am.  Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the The Dump Run.


2.  THE DUMP RUN 5K – August 3, 2019 (8:30 am)

The Third Annual The Dump Run 5K, sponsored by Paulbeck’s County Market,  begins at Paulbeck’s and follows the new city bike trail across a scenic bridge over the Ripple River and through Aitkin’s City Park returning over the same route to the finish line at Paulbeck’s County Market.  This 5K course is USATF certified.
