RACE DESCRIPTION: Come run the country roads of rural Poetry, Texas on Saturday, October 1st! Poetry is about 45 minutes due east of Dallas (Highway 80 through Terrell or Interstate 30 through Rockwall). This race is a run / walk, so come on our whether it's your 1st 5K or you're trying to set a new PR! The Family Fun Run/Walk is 1 mile for family groups who wish to enjoy the October weather in Poetry... 5K Runner $30, Fun run/walk Primary Registrant $30 (additional family members in the group are $5). Proceeds from this event will benefit students at Poetry Community Christian School through the building of a baseball field. Water Stations will be located along the course, along with a campus 1st Aid Station and free Massage Station on campus (massages available pre-race and post-race). Stay and enjoy the Post-Race Fun Fest including food trucks, local venders, balloon man and activities.

TIMING: This event will be timed using a bibtag timing chips. The timing chip will be on the back of the run number. Please make sure your number is clearly visible on the front of your body. This will not need to be turned back in after the race it is disposable. It will be a chip time start. That means your time will not start until you reach the start timing mat. Make sure your number is clearly visible on the front of your body. Poetry 5K will use a genuine SHOTGUN START, and this is the official start of the event. Chip Time is the time your chip crossed the start timing mat. The awards for this event are based on Chip Time.
PARKING: Convenient parking will be available within easy walking distance immediately east of the campus via Shuttle to the start line.
