Come honor those currently serving in the military, our veterans, and all of those whom have made the ULTIMATE sacrifice at our Patriotic Dash 5k on September 11th. Not only will we be honoring our veterans at this event but this event is also a fundraiser for Families By Choice.
The Patriotic Dash 5k will consist of a timed 5k run/walk and a 1k Family walk. September 11th is also Grandparent's Day so we are encouraging all of those whom would not like to do the 5k to all walk together in the Family 1k walk.
All of those whom sign up for the 5k can participate in the 1k Family Walk for free.
Race day registration and packet pickup will take place at the Dogwood Shelter in Hawthorn Park located at: 6067 East Old Maple Avenue, Terre Haute, IN
Race Day Schedule:
- 12:00 p.m. - 1:50 p.m. - Race day registration and packet pickup
- 1:50 p.m. - Pre-race Ceremony honoring current and past members of the Military
- 2:00 p.m. - 5k Start
- 2:45 p.m. - 1k Family Walk
- 3:00 p.m. - 5k Post-race awards ceremony

Families By Choice provides a transitional housing program for homeless individuals in our community through our various programs.
All of our shelters allow our clients to stay for up to two years, preparing them to obtain the necessary resources for a move into independent housing, with the exception of Project Jonathan which could be a life time stay.
All our shelter's are clean and sober facilities.
(NO DRINKING OR DRUGS ALLOWED)
Present programs are:
- Deborah's House for single women with preference with children 12 and under.
- Project Jonathan for intellectually challenged adults.
- Timothy's House for men with preference to those exiting foster care,
- as well as men who are having medical, homeless issues.
