"This is a unique opportunity to cycle round the historic WW2 Bomber base and Motorsport test track with the backdrop of the Cold War Jets collection.

Over the six hours as an individual, pair or as a team of up to five people (Have your Team name ready before registering) you will complete as many laps of the Tarmac/concrete circuit as you can. And earn your participation gift.
If you register after 28th Feb you are unlikely to receive a T Shirt due to production lead times. Rules of common sense and good sportsmanship apply All cycles must be in good safe working order, riders must wear a helmet any poor conduct, badly maintained equipment or riders will be excluded from the event. So make sure you give your bike a once over before you leave home.

This is a fun event organised by volunteers so don't expect the Tour de France!!

The Ride4Alex team is working very hard to keep organisational costs as low as possible while delivering you an event to remember. This is a not for profit event. We want as much as possible to be paid to the Goodwin family for them to use to support Alex through his fight against cancer and with the challenges he faces as a cancer survivor.
We are hoping to make this a family friendly event and we would love to see children and non riders coming along to support.  Unfortunately though to actually ride in the event we need you to be 18 or over.

About Alex,

Alexander Goodwin is a nine year old boy who loves sharks, dinosaurs, birds of prey and anything to do with nature.

On 8th June 2016 the family had some terrible news that Alex had been diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma of his right femur. Alex has been struggling with constant leg pain since Christmas 2015 and has used crutches since April 2016. He was initially misdiagnosed until finally being told it was cancer in June.

Ewing Sarcoma is a rare type of bone cancer that affects children. Fewer than 30 children in the UK develop Ewing's Sarcoma each year.

Alex has had weeks of scans and tests and months of chemotherapy. He has lived for months in constant pain and discomfort using crutches since April and is now reliant for any extended period of time on a wheelchair to get around.

Alex is flying to America in the middle of December to start the next phase of his treatment, getting Alex to this point is a testament to how strong and determined he is to beat his cancer and to all those that have helped care and support him.  While in America he will undergo some major surgery and possibly more chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Follow his progress and send him your love and support on Twitter and Facebook

When Alex returns to the UK in the early part of 2017 he will start yet another big challenge in his treatment and recovery no one can be precisely sure in what form that will take at this time but may require him to go aboard again to received specialist physiotherapy and other treatment to help his body recover and work towards giving him the highest level of mobility possible.

At present we are unsure as to the exact costs involved until comprehensive treatment plans are in place. We are seeking to raise funds through Ride4Alex and the release of a music single & video "Horizon On My Mind"

Alex’s dad is a serving police firearms officer with Warwickshire police and  is now affectionately known as Constable Alex a name given to him by his dads team at work.

Alex has received enormous support from the Police and emergency services family as well as members of the public,we would like to see all of you at Ride4Alex.

So now you know who it’s for and why we’re doing it, Will you sign up and Ride4Alex?"
