NCSU 5K Run and Polar Plunge for Special Olympics

Raleigh, NC

It’s time to take that wintry leap and warm your heart for Special Olympics! Put on those crazy costumes and go let’s go Freezin’ for a Reason. Start with a 5K race and then take the plunge!

Come out and enjoy the scenic view of NCSU’s Centennial Campus Greenways as you run! This course takes you onto breathe taking greenways and a few minutes on the sidewalks that bring you back to more spectator greenways! This 5k will start and end at Lake Raleigh. We welcome everyone to come out. It doesn’t matter if this is your first 5K. Run…Walk just finish so you don’t miss out on the Polar Plunge that will take place right after the 5K. Omega Sports of Cary NC will be providing prizes for the categories listed. We also encourage runners dress in costume (remember family event) for a chance to win best costume prize for the 5K.

All proceeds from the NCSU Special Olympics 5K/Polar Plunge will go to Special Olympics North Carolina. The funds will be used to assist the over 38000 Special Olympics athletes who live in North Carolina.
