Presented by Simmons Hanly Conroy, the first annual John Cunningham Memorial Miles for Meso 5K Run/Walk will take place Sept. 23, 2017 at Peace Valley Park in New Britain Township, Pennsylvania. All proceeds will benefit Penn Medicine’s Mesothelioma Translational Center of Excellence (TCE) at the University of Pennsylvania's Abramson Cancer Center.

The John Cunningham Memorial 5K Run/Walk
John Cunningham, a loving husband and father, multisport athlete and former Director of Laboratory Research at Merck was diagnosed with mesothelioma in March 2015 and passed away on March 17, 2016. Mesothelioma is a rare and aggressive form of cancer caused from asbestos exposure, and can take 20-50 years for symptoms to appear.
This event will be celebrated in memory of John Cunningham, and to assist in mesothelioma research to find a cure for this fatal disease. All proceeds will benefit Penn Medicine's Mesothelioma Translational Center of Excellence (TCE) at the Abramson Cancer Center.
This 5K Run/Walk is the only Miles for Meso Event in Pennsylvania. Walkers are encouraged to join us to celebrate John's life and legacy, to raise an awareness for asbestos exposure and to contribute to Penn Medicine's mesothelioma research fund. John received his treatment at Penn Medicine's Abramson Cancer Center and because of this - along with his unwavering spirit - he and his wife and family were given another precious year together.

Registration: $25.00 through August 20th
Late Registration: $30.00 August 21st through September 21st
Registration for this event will be limited to 150 participants due to parking availability at Sailors Point.
T-Shirts: Everyone who registers will receive a long sleeve moisture-wicking T-shirt.
Sizes for T-shirts can only be guaranteed for those registered by August 20th.
After August 20th, sizes are given out in order of registration.
Drawstring Goody Bags will also be given to
