If you are training for a fall marathon or want to do something different, this is the run for you. The course starts at 220th street & Broadway in upper Manhattan and finishes in lower Manhattan at the north end of Battery Park in sight of the Statue of Liberty and the Freedom Tower as your backdrop.     It's a Training Run, not a Race. In the beginning of the run and just before the 2 Mile mark, you will encounter a hill that is almost 3/4 of a mile and after that a small hill called the "Oh Sh#t Hill", and from that point rolling hills. Once you exit the streets of New York City you will travel to a path in Riverside Park at 95th street & Riverside Drive that will lead to the Greenway jogging path along the Hudson River which is all flat to the finish line. The following amenities are as follows, six water stops along the way and the last three will have Gatorade, a 14.2 Customized Finishers Medal, Quality T-Shirt, a Large Mug all with the 14.2 logo. Music along the way and delicious refreshments awaits you when you finish.

For some runners there will be buses ($5.00) leaving from the finish line area, boarding in front of 17 Battery Place at 5:15 AM and leaving for the start at 6:00 AM SHARP!

During the run, you will past several historic landmarks such as Grants Tomb, Riverside Church, Fireman Memorial at (100th street & Riverside Dr.), 72nd street Boat Basin, Intrepid Museum and just before the finish line the Freedom Tower. It's a run that is very different from all others, when someone ask you "what did you do this morning, you will say to them " I ran the length of Manhattan."

"What a way to start your day."
