On Saturday, October 21st, 2017, at 9:45 am, at the Connie Link Amphitheatre in Normal, IL, Lifesong for Orphans is holding a 5k Run/Walk and 1/2 mile Kids' Run to raise funds to operate a Safe House, a residence at the Suubi School in Uganda, to care for 10-13 year old girls who attend Suubi School and who've experienced abuse or are at risk for abuse.
Come run or walk in Lifesong for Orphans' fundraiser 5K Run/Walk or 1/2 mile Kid's run to raise funds for the expenses associated with a Safe House for young girls at risk for or already experiencing abuse in the village of Bukeka, Uganda. LifeSong for Orphans, in partnership with Global Hands of Hope Uganda, has recently built a Safe House for 40 girls attending the Suubi ("Hope") School. Now we are trying to raise funds for the expenses associated with caring for these precious girls with four full-time "House Moms" (social workers) and other resources. Ronnie and Ritah Nalera, directors of Global Hands of Hope, will be at the race, visiting from Uganda!
The Safe House Run is on Saturday, October 21st at the Allers Shelter just up the hill from the Connie Link Amphitheatre in Normal. The race will be entirely on the Constitution Trail.
Registration fee is 25$ for the 5K, 10$ for the Kid's 1/2 mile run, and includes a T-shirt for the event if you register at least 2 wks before the run. T-shirts and Post-Race drinks and snacks will be provided by our sponsors. Race bib and packet pick-up starts at 9 am the day of the race. Kid's Run is at 9:45, 5K at 10 am.
