4th Annual Goose Valley Fireman Fun Run

Lace up those sneakers and dust off your bunker coat for the 4th Annual Goose Valley Fireman Fun Run! We will be featuring a half marathon along with the 5k and 10k. Walkers feel free to enter the 5k (it's only 3.2 miles).

Rain (snow) or shine, we will run! 2019 was a challenge (rain, snow, sleet, wind, tears, whining, crying, mud, falling down, getting back up, falling down again, yelling, cursing and smiling) and 2020 was a tropical heat wave! Cross your fingers for sunshine and a light breeze this year.

THE HALF MARATHON COURSE will depend on weather. If the wet weather crosses us again, the course will be the same as 2019. If the weather gods give us sunshine, we will run through the airport and then up and through the Forbes Ranch as we did in 2020.

All the races will be 90% gravel roads and trail running.
It will be tough to have strollers on.

 Half Marathon will be 13.1-14.2 miles, depending on weather and ground conditions.

All races will start at the fire station and proceed south along the airport boundary before turning west towards the mountains using the upper road and private property. There will be an aid station near the halfway point with water and a light snack.

All races will be supported on the ground by Goose Valley Firefighters and volunteers.

  Race day registration and packet pickup will start at 8am at the fire station.

 The Half Marathon will begin at 9am. The 5k and 10k races will start at 10am.

       

           

The Sheridan Area Rural Fire Protection District - Goose Valley Fire Department was founded on April 3rd, 2008. The Department provides fire protection and medical assistance to 241 sq/miles of Sheridan County.

Goose Valley Fire also provides mutual aid assistance to the City of Sheridan, Big Horn Fire, Ranchester, Dayton, Clearmont, Story and southern Big Horn County Montana.

Goose Valley Fire is volunteer based and comprised of 22 members of the community providing fire protection and medical assistance 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
