5K Run/Walk to help Raise Awareness for Substance Use Addiction/Recovery. Flat and fast 5k in Glens Falls, NY.
About this Event
The Out of the Shadows 5K is in its second year and is raising awareness for Substance Use Addiction/Recovery. The Run/Ride/Walk event begins on Lawrence Street, just outside the parking lot of the Center For Recovery campus. It is a 3.1 mile course that goes through the side streets of Glens Falls. The overall purpose of this event is to raise awareness of Substance Use Disorders and Recovery. Many of the side streets that will be passed by are residential streets. Our hopes are that the community will see us come together and increase the awareness to how many people substances affect and the amount of support that is available. Parts of the course will also emerge briefly on to Bay Street and Ridge Street, to include a presence on busier streets of the city. It will swing back to Ridge and Maple and end where we started just outside the Center For Recovery parking lot. This year we have partnered with Freedom Machines and will offer a bike event as well. There will be a fun ride that will take place directly before the of the walk/run event. It will follow the same route. We hope you can join us to help support local recovery efforts.

Registration will be available up until the day of the event from 8-9:45 AM at the Center for Recovery at 101 Ridge Street.
