The B!KE-A-THON is a fun-draising event that will provide core financial support for B!KE. On July 13th we invite you and all your bikey friends to join us on the back patio of The Social for our first ever B!KE-A-THON. We want you to bring a team and ride a bike!
During the event you and your team will ride a stationary bike for 12 hours. Each team will be made up of up to five members, and collectively it’s your job to keep your bicycle in motion for the entire event. Each team commits to raise $500 (or more) in support of B!KE. We invite teams to bring their own bike, or B!KE can provide one for you. Team names and costumes strongly encouraged. The more fun the better!
That means we need you to find four friends and start fun-draising! What’s the best way to raise money you ask? Have a house party, set-up a lemonade stand, call your dad and ask for money, or make a donation yourself. Get creative and have fun with it!

B!KE: The Peterborough Community Cycling Hub is an incorporated not-for-profit, member-based cycling education and support organization. We’ve been working with the Peterborough community since 2006 teaching bike maintenance, repair, and riding skills. B!KE provides a diverse community of members with support in riding bikes, we need your support in keeping B!KE in operation.
B!KE needs your support for our core operations. While B!KE is a well-established non-profit with a diverse funding model we are currently facing financial hardship. Our revenue includes our sales of bicycles, parts, and memberships, grants from a variety of organizations, fee for service programs and a Trent Undergraduate Student Levy. With recently passed legislation, B!KE stands to lose significant core funding that has been provided by this Trent Levy. We need your support to ensure B!KE continues to exist. It is essential that we find an additional $15,000-$20,000 each year to sustain our presence in the community. By fun-draising for B!KE your team can help us get us in gear for the coming year!
EVENT DETAILS:
July 13th from 9am-9pm at The Social. Riders are encouraged to spend the day with us at The Social supporting your team mates, playing games, participating in spin class, or getting a free massage!
- Teams of up to 5 members
- Minimum funds raised per team: $500. Team registration fee: $200
- Bring your own bike or we provide one for you
- Prizes will be awarded to teams that: ride the most kilometers, raise the most funds, and have the most fun!
- Every team member gets: lunch, a B!KE water bottle, and a sweet sense of success.
