Course Information!
The course is a mixture of grass, gravel, sidewalk and canal path. Spikes are not recommended. The course is predominately fast, with some challenging hills / climbs located near the beginning and end of the course.
There will be cones and flagging along the course with directional arrows to help guide athletes. In addition, there will be course monitors to help direct athletes at all major turns and intersections.
General course features/directions are:
- The start line for the course will be located at west end of soccer field #2.
- Athletes will travel across the soccer field before making a sweeping turn to head west, down a hill to the lower soccer fields and toward the pond.
- Near the pond the athletes will cross a bridge and climb up the canal along a dirt path.
- Once at the top of the hill, the athletes will travel northwest on the canal path. The path will turn north east, and the athletes will cross the bridge, and make a slight turn south west.
- They will then turn north and follow a gravel path that runs parallel to a sidewalk. Approximately 1/3 of the way up the gravel path, the athletes will cross over and return on the sidewalk, traveling south towards the canal.
- Just before they arrive at the bridge, they will turn northeast and follow the canal path until they almost reach Warner Rd. They will cross over the canal on a path, and travel southwest along the opposite side of the canal.
- The athletes will then be directed to travel east along a dirt path, before turning south, to travel down hill towards the pond.
- When they reach the bottom of the hill, they will follow a marked path around a grove of trees, before turning and making a mostly straight run for the finish line.
