The L.L.Bean Flannel 5K – Center Valley kicks off at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 17th with packet pickup in the L.L.Bean store located at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley 3301 Center Valley Pkwy, Center Valley, PA 18034! Runners will register and get their numbers and very cool flannel T-shirt at the L.L. Bean store, then take a free bus shuttle to the start line at Upper Saucon Township Community Park three miles away. Please do not drive to the park. All registration and bib pickup is at the L.L. Bean Store. The race starts at 9:00 AM and finishes inside the Upper Saucon Park and runs entirely on the Saucon Rail Trail. Runners and Spectators are all welcome to take the free shuttle from the start to the race and back again to the L.L. Bean store.
Once they’ve completed the course, runners and spectators will take a bus back to the L.L. Bean store for the after-race party. Proceeds from the race will be shared with a local Boosters club.
This race is limited to 600 runners, so sign up ASAP to guarantee your spot!
The course starts in the wonderfully resplendent Upper Saucon Park. Featuring 70 acres set aside for playing fields, a track and picnic area, the park should still be vibrantly decked with late autumn foliage. The park and rail trail are also located adjacent to the beautiful DeSales University Campus. Runners will then enter the Saucon Rail Trail, an excellent running surface that is wide enough for easy running. An out and back loop, the entire course is on this beautiful rail trail which has only two road crossings. The course will feature old railroad signs and bridges of the North Pennsylvania Railroad and glimpses of the Saucon Valley Country Club and golf course. The rail trail is tree- lined with many shady places and scenic overlooks. Give a high five to those ahead of you or behind you at the turn around and head back to the Upper Saucon Park to the finish.
We’ll have pizza, bananas, and drinks for you, but as if that wasn’t awesome enough, we’ll also be giving away L.L.Bean gift certificates (ranging from $25 to $100) to randomly-selected runners! All runners will receive a 20% off L.L. Bean discount coupon.
