Clonmel Athletic Club Celebrates 50 years of activity in 2021.To mark this great milestone in the Club's history we are promoting a Virtual "Celebration Run of 50 miles plus" that caters to all levels of fitness. This event is open to Club members and non-Club members, even past members might like to participate in this event as this is a Worldwide event. Many of our past members are living throughout the world and this is their opportunity to also participate in this once-off Celebration Run, a trip down memory lane.
This event is open to everyone age 13 years of age and older and it can be done by either walking, jogging, or running all at your own pace and adhering to the Covid 19 guidelines in your local area at all times. Achieving this total of 50 miles plus can be achieved in any combination like walking or running a mile a day for 50 days, running or walking 5ks for 16 days, or any such combination to achieve 50 miles in 8 weeks. This way you get to choose how you can go about achieving this Celebration Run at your pace in your own time. Here you get the opportunity to set out your way of achieving this total, also for the more adventurous you can aim to go higher than 50 miles, like aim for anything up to 400 miles in the 8 weeks. This is our way of celebrating this great milestone in the Club's history and we would like as many people as possible to celebrate with us.
Once you register, then all you have to do is send in your weekly mileage total on a Monday night to this email address
clonmelathleticclub@gmail.com. We will keep a record of your mileage and once you achieve the 50-mile mark we will add you to the list of Achievers. There's no rush, you can do this in your own time and you have up to 8 weeks to complete this goal.
Every Tuesday night we will upload the Achievers list on our Club website -
www.clonmelac.com as well as on our Facebook page Clonmel AC until the end of May. All our Achievers will then receive our specially designed 50th Anniversary hat, either by collection or by post.
