GRATEFUL GOLDENS RESCUE OF THE LOW COUNTRY
Grateful Goldens Rescue of the Low Country's mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes into loving, forever homes. Many dogs come into rescue needing treatment for heartworms and some with extraordinary medical issues. Veterinarian costs continue to rise and put a strain on our financial resources. All proceeds raised from this race will help with the medical expenses of our rescued Goldens.
What a great way to get exercise, have fun, and make a difference for Grateful Goldens Rescue! We're hosting the first Grateful Goldens Rescue's Virtual 5K and 1-Mile Family Run/Walk on a virtual platform that allows for participation from the safety of our homes and neighborhoods anywhere. With a one-month window to complete your race, you can fit it into your schedule whenever and whereever it works best. It can be done all at once, or in short intervals throughout the week using the IYR app to track your progress.
The race kicks off when you are ready to go -
any day between October 24th and October 31st.
Run, hike, bike, walk, walk your dog ... from anywhere!

- You have the option of creating your own individual fundraising page where you can personalize and post pictures and get a sharable URL to post to social media to invite family and friends to help you fundraise for Grateful Goldens Rescue.
- You also have the option of creating a fundraising team where you can personalize and post pictures and get a shareable URL to post to social media to encourage your family and friends to join your team in fundraising and register for the event. Each member will still have their own individual fundraising page to invite people to donate to, but the team will collectively have a goal and all individual fundraising totals will add into the team's goal.
- Simply download the app, track your race, and submit when completed during the October 24th and October 31st race timeframe.

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RUN/WALK?
A Virtual Run is a 5K that can be completed in your own neighborhood, at a local park, or even on the treadmill. Sign up, gather some friends, decide on a route, and get out and move! The best part is, you'll know that each step you take is helping Grateful Goldens Rescue of the Low Country.
USE THE IT'S YOUR RACE VIRTUAL RACE APP
The IYR Virtual mobile app syncs with all virtual races hosted on ITS YOUR RACE, including our event! After you are registered, click the link below to find out more information about the mobile app and how to use it for tracking your 5K or 1-mile race. You can also upload photos from your own personal race course, or share a selfie at the end!
Registrants can begin running their race on OCTOBER 24, 2021 at 12AM PST. Participants must complete their virtual race and submit their results by 11:59PM on OCTOBER 31, 2021. After this time, results can no longer be posted.
