Come join us for our annual event for the entire family. Hosted by the Ascension Historical Society and previously known as the Greek Independence Day Run, we have changed our theme and date. Keeping in the tradition of celebrating the Greek heritage, we are now The Hellenic Run in August! No more rain! Bring your children and grandchildren to enjoy the beauty of Lake Merritt, the food and music of Greece, and a fabulous run to begin your day.
Scenic, flat course around beautiful Lake Merritt, along foot paths
& sidewalks
(one-third dirt, two-thirds asphalt/concrete). True 5K & 10K
courses, measured to USATF standards. Once all upgrades have been made
to this gorgeous lake in the City of Oakland, we will submit for USATF
approval.
