The 4th Annual No Excuses Event includes a chip timed 5K run, Hot Dog Fun Run and 1.75 Fun Run.
In 2016, the Rome Braves are offering race participants two opportunities to join in the fun at No Excuses. The first is the 5K and Health Walk starting at 8am from the Braves Miracle Field of Rome. The 5K and Health Walk will take participants on the trail system to Ridge Ferry Park and around State Mutual Stadium, home of the Rome Braves and will finish on the field. The new event, the Hot Dog Fun Run, will begin at 8:30am at the Braves Miracle Field of Rome. Participants will consume a hot dog with fixings before starting their run on the trail immediately surrounding State Mutual Stadium (approximately 1.5 miles). At the first station, they will stop and consume a Slaw Dog and at the second station they still stop and consume a Chili Dog before finishing the race on the field. The first male and female participant to cross the finish line without losing their lunch will be crowned the Hot Dog King & Queen and will receive free hot dogs at State Mutual Stadium during the 2016 season.
