Stride for Sight

Stride for Sight is a unique event for all ages and abilities, with blind and sighted runners competing together. The event will help fund the comprehensive programs at the Foundation for Blind Children.

This event will feature a timed 5K and a relaxed 1-mile walk held in Scottsdale.  For those that take the challenge we also have a unique twist known as “The Blindfold Challenge” where you can compete blindfolded with a team member of your choosing as a sighted guide.

The Foundation for Blind Children serves the blind and visually impaired of all ages, from birth to currently 102 years old.  As the only agency of its kind in Arizona, the Foundation for Blind Children is an essential resource to families and children with blindness or low vision.  To support their amazing work please considering giving at their donation page here!

Blindfold Challenge: For those looking for adventure, the Blindfold Challenge is an opportunity to compete in the 5K run blindfolded with a sighted guide. Running blindfolded takes competition to a whole new level and is sure to be a life changing experience! Create a 2-person team and compete blindfolded using one another as a sighted guide. Run the entire route blindfolded or run it as the sighted guide, or trade roles halfway through to get a taste of the challenges for each position. Each Teammate must register separately. Blindfolds and tethers will be provided.

Race Day Information

Race Day Check In and Registration will be available beginning at 7:00am at Arizona Boardwalk / Odysea Aquarium in Scottsdale. We accept cash, check, and credit card on race day.  Race day prices are $40 for the 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk All shirts sizes may not be available on race day (please register online before race day to guarantee your shirt size choice). Wheelchair, stroller, and leashed pet friendly event. All wheelchairs, stollers, and leashed pets must start at the back of the start line coral. All participants are chipped time, so your time will not be affected by starting at the back of the coral.  Your  time will not start until you cross the start line. Due to the common start/finish line there will be no bag check for this event.
