The SSgt Jason C. Hicks Memorial Scholarship Fund was established as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization following Jason's death in Afghanistan on 23 March 2003, while in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Since 2003, the Scholarship has been awarded annually in Jason's name to a graduating senior from Central High School in Pageland, SC.
Any Central High School graduating senior may apply for the Scholarship. Applicants should demonstrate leadership abilities and community service. A Scholarship application for the current school year can be printed by clicking the application link on this site.

This year, the fifteenth Scholarship will be awarded. That is an accomplishment our entire community can be proud of!

Only those who register early will receive a shirt. Guaranteed until May 13th.

5K Run/Walk (Ages 4 and Up)
Lunch is open to everybody. Non-racers may purchase a meal ticket for $10.

Packet Pickup:
Each participant will receive a packet with their race number, their t-shirt (if purchased), admission ticket to post race festivities, and some other goodies. Race packets will be available for pickup at the Pageland Community Center beginning at 7:30 a.m. the morning of the 5k.
Timing:
Simply Timing will provide chip timing for the 5K race event. Simply Timing uses the most state-of-the-art equipment. Simply Timing uses a small patented foam covered disposable bib chip instead of a shoe chip. Since the bib chip is disposable, you will not be asked to stand in a long line the morning of the event waiting for someone to hand you a shoe chip. You will also never be chased down after the event by someone trying to cut-off your shoe chip. Simply Timing is a local company, we live and work in your community.
