2019 Overview
Join TriToFinish and Presenting Sponsor Short’s Brewing Company in collaboration with organizers of the MUTT Race and the Bay City Morning Rotary Driathlon are bringing back the third annual Red Moon Trail Run! The Red moon – or Sturgeon moon is a traditional name for the full moon that occurs in August and was named by Native American fishing tribes who knew that sturgeon in the Great Lakes were most easily caught under it.
The Race: Due to strong feedback from participants, this year’s race has changed distances up a little bit and will offer a 2 loop 10k event in place of the 15k 3 loop event. Come out to Midland City Forest in Midland, MI– same site as the popular Snow Moon Trail Run - as runners embark on a 5k, 10k or 25k race along wide trails (not single track). Runners completing multiple laps will run through a chute located directly inside a 3,200 square foot event tent (where the finish line is located).
Short’s Brewing Company is back to present the Red Moon Trail Run after having a blast with us at Snow Moon Trail Run this past February. We got together with Short’s and the
Midland Eagles 2110 after Snow Moon to come up with a plan to shine up the serving process! Once again, all participants will receive a couple of cold brews post-race!
Note: Registration for this event is limited to just 400 participants, so sign up early!
Added amenities for this year’s race include Shorts Beverages, Age Group Awards, and Event Pint Glasses for all participants!
This is a USA Track & Field Sanctioned event. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Eagles of Midland 2110 and their community efforts.

Course Description:
The Red Moon Run will take place in Midland’s City Forest on flat, wide-track trails and mountain bike trails. The course will be marked with small LED lights to assist with trail navigation. The race is composed of a 5k trail course with runners able to choose from 1, 2, or 5 lap options. If you are opting for multiple laps, you’ll enjoy cheer from those in the tent as you run directly through a 3,200 square foot event tent. This race has one “aid” station manned by enthusiastic volunteers with hydration and snacks that participants will pass twice on each loop of the course.

Entrance and site of Red Moon Trail Run. Bring some extra cash! Shirts, pint glasses, and other swag will be available for sale during packet pickup!

Parking
There will be limited parking at the Midland City Forest lot on race day. The Eagles of Midland will provide shuttle service in 15 passenger vans between the designated parking lots at the Eagles Club and Midland City Forest. Please be aware that there is about .25 miles distance between the packet pickup location and the event tent. We urge you to consider utilizing the shuttle service. It is free and the Eagles drivers are pretty good dudes.
