Rehema Home

The Diva Du plans to become a series where we can highlight and give back to the charities close to our athletes' hearts. This year we are donating 20% of our profits to a charity very near and dear to Morgan Matthews, local triathlete and runner actively involved in supporting the Rehema Home.

"I first learned of The Rehema Home ( Rehema means "Mercy" in Swahili) in 2003 when I saw a Christmas calendar that had every orphan's smiling face on it. This struck me as I digested the fact that these children were abandoned and left with nothing, yet they had big smiles and eyes filled with joy. It was that moment that I fell in love with every one of those children. A year later, I was on a plane with 8 other people headed to Nairobi Kenya. When I arrived, I was blown away at the love and quality of care they received by Ruth, Irvan, and the staff at The Rehema Home. It wasn't an orphanage, it was a home. A home full of love, laughter, and joy. Coming home from that trip completely changed my world view. I realized we need to be thankful for what we have, and help others who are in need. I am dedicated to continue to support The Rehema Home as they take on the rising numbers of orphans and continue to give them everything a child deserves and needs."
