Brett Wanted a Marathon (aka Savannah River Marathon)

Augusta, GA

Have you ever wondered why there has never been a full marathon in the Augusta area?  Well Brett certainly has, and he decided to do something about it.

Brett Wanted a Marathon (aka The Savannah River Marathon and Half Marathon) will be held on October 22, 2022 starting at 7 a.m. To the best of our knowledge, this will be the FIRST EVER marathon held in the CSRA.

The full and half marathons will be out and back courses starting and ending at Savannah Rapids Park. The full marathon route will take you to the end of the Canal and River Levy trails, across the 13th bridge, and almost to the end of the North Augusta Greeneway, where you will turn around and head back to Savannah Rapids pavilion. The turnaround point for the half marathon will be just sort of the 13th Bridge.

This is a bare bones type of event (for anyone familiar, it will be similar in feel to the old Run to the PBR). There will be chip timing, and water stops every 2-3 miles. Please plan on carrying additional hydration as needed. Other than that, there will be no course monitors, and the trails and sidewalks will be fully open to other runners, walkers, cyclists, etc. Time limit for both events is 7 hours.

We hope you enjoy the event!

Packet pickup will be at Savannah River Brewing Company, 813 5th Street, Augusta, Georgia on October 21, 2022 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Awards will be for the following:
Overall - Top 2 Male and Female
29 and under
30-39
40-49
50-59
60 and over
