A Walk/Run/Roll in Lauren's Shoes

Buffalo, NY

The Make Lemon Aide Foundation for Cerebral Palsy presents the

4th Annual Walk/Run/Roll in Lauren’s Shoe’s
10:00AM START: 1-Mile Accessible Walk!
10:30AM START: 5K Run

After deep thought and consideration, the Make Lemon Aide Foundation for CP’s 4th Annual Walk/Run/Roll in Lauren's Shoes 5K & 1 Mile Accessible Walk will take place at the scenic Wilkeson Pointe waterfront destination located at the Outer Harbor; 225 Furhmann Blvd., Buffalo, New York 14203. The date will be Sunday June 11, 2017. Enjoy winding around the bike path on waterfront!

As the event continues to grow each year, we wanted to select a new location with better accessibility on a sturdy bike path for our CP families and warriors, along with potential to attract more 5k runners in Western New York. Our course has been certified with USA Track and Field and the first 300 participants will receive an official Walk in Lauren's Shoes race shirt!

After the race enjoy the amenities of the park including kayak and paddle board rentals with Long Boards at The Beach, Consumer’s Beer Garden, rent a bike and take in the unbelievable views of the waterfront and City. This is a must see destination for locals and tourists.

Another important change
This year's race will be more streamlined and focused solely on the pre-race and race activities. We are eliminating the post-race family fundraiser, as it caused too long of a day for our CP families. Instead, we'd love everyone's participation and support with team and individual fundraising among your family and friends. Runners will still have the option to wear ankle weights to simulate (in a very small way) what it feels like for people with CP.

Why Walk/Run/Roll with us?
Cerebral Palsy affects 17 million people worldwide. There's NO federal funding for CP research. It's called the forgotten disability. It's the #1 motor disability found in children with no funding. 1 in 303 children are impacted with CP. 1 in 3 children can't walk. 1 in 4 children with CP can't feed themselves. 1 in 4 children with CP can't dress themselves. Some children with CP will NEVER talk.
