In 2013, a young girl who heard about foreverU, organized a foreverU 5k Family Fun Run for Global Youth Service Day. Since then, our 5k has become an annual event that we always look forward to, and has become another great way to allow teens to positively impact those in their community.
For quite some time, we had been trying to develop a more creative and energetic way to bring communities together to experience the message of foreverU. This event has been made to empower and inspire while also having a ton of fun. Our main theme is to get you to think about the question, "What are YOU running from?" We want you to dig deeper to discover what is holding you back from being, YOU. Don't like running? You can walk also!
Our 5k will be taking place May 9th, 2015 at the Hickory Creek Preserve - Laporte Road Access in Mokena, IL. We have an early bird registration fee of $20, then every couple weeks the fee will begin to increase until the day of the event. On the day of the 5k, check-in begins at 9:15am, and the run will begin at 9:45am. After the event, we have refreshments, snacks, raffles, and more.
