The Polar Bear Run is in it's 28th year, benefiting high school music students who participate in Student Music Mission Trips/Choir Tours. The Run began in 1989.  Johnson Ferry began hosting the race in 1992, after being approached to take over the race which originally was held on the Mercer University campus in Atlanta, benefiting Easter Seals.  The first race had 300 participants, and has steadily grown to its current 2000 participant limit.

Proceeds from the race benefit participants of JF High School Student Music who need financial assistance for the annual Mission/Choir Tour. Students rehearse weekly to learn songs, drama skits, and dance routines to use both in local worship and tour opportunities.  In past years, students have traveled to New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Poland, Dallas, Chicago, and Washington, DC, just to name a few.  We utilize music and art to bring the gospel to those we meet on Tour.
