Human Trafficking which is nothing more than Modern Day Slavery, a serious crime, a violation of human rights and it is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world. Second only to drugs and weapons, Human Trafficking is an estimated multi-billion dollar a year international enterprise that forces the most vulnerable among us into the horrors of Modern Day Slavery.
Every year thousands of men, women, and children fall into the hands of traffickers in their own country and abroad. Almost every country in the world is affected by Human Trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit or place of destination for victims.
In the United States and within our own communities in Ohio we are not exempted from this hideous crime. In fact every year over 1,780 of Ohio’s youth fall into the hands of traffickers and over 3,016 are at risk.
Proceeds from this event will go towards continued community awareness, survivor restoration, safe housing and outreach.
