The Bridgeton BlueberryFest is becoming a special part of the summer for families to gather, eat blueberries, shop, sight-see, play, and spend quality time together. This year we add a 5K race and fun run.
Runners, stroller runners, and walkers across eastern North Carolina will converge to experience the country morning sounds and the calming views of the Neuse River as they trek the streets parallel to the water. Passing water points and mile markers, runners and walkers will be greeted by locals beaming with smiles. The serenity surrounding this suburban town will mesmerize families looking to relocate into a hometown atmosphere.
The Children’s Miracle Network will be the recipient of the proceeds of this inaugural Blueberry 5000. The 2015-2016 CMN NC Champion, Kennedy Dean, will be present to meet and greet participants, be available for photo ops, and join us for the blueberry pancake buffet. Kennedy, with her parents Dwayne and Kim, will share her story of survival and the impact Children’s Miracle Network and the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital at Vidant Medical Center had on her road to recovery.
We invite you to take part in the launch of this year’s festivities by supporting the Children’s Miracle Network, the Blueberry 5K, joining us at the post-race blueberry pancake buffet at the Bridgeton United Methodist Church, and enjoy festivities at the Bridgeton BlueberryFest at the Bridgeton Harbor Marina!
A $5 donation is requested for the blueberry pancake breakfast buffet. For your convenience you can choose to make this donation for your breakfast buffet when you register online for the 5K race sp you don't need to worry about cash on race day.
Bridgeton BlueberryFest includes a pirate invasion, vendors, food, kids rides, water activities, knockerball games.
