Due to growing concerns surrounding COVID-19, this event has been canceled. 10-31 is the code for a Hot Pursuit! Come on out and run from the Sheriff while supporting your community!
The Lake County Sheriff's Charities Mission is "To support Lake County children, to foster engagement between Lake County citizens and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, and to support Lake County Sheriff’s employees and their families in times of need."
The event, which is a 5k, will start in front of the Lake County Historic Courthouse and proceed through downtown Tavares and finish at the traffic circle.
There will be medals awarded to the following categories:
Top Overall Male and Female.
Top 3 Males and 3 Females in the following age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-30, 31-40, 41-50, and 50 and over.
*Participants who outrun Sheriff Grinnell will also receive a commemorative "I Out Ran the Sheriff" sticker!
Every registration
(before April 4th) will receive a t-shirt! Registrations after April 4th will not receive a t-shirt. If there are t-shirts left over, they will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis when registration packets are picked up.
Registration packets can be picked up at the Lake County Sheriff's Office Administration Building (Historical Courthouse) on April 17th. They can also be picked up on the day of the race on the front lawn of the Historical Courthouse between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
All proceeds from the event will be given to the Lake County Sheriff's Charities.
**For safety reasons, in-line skates, skateboards, and bicycles will not be allowed in this race**
