The triathlon is a three part race: off-road trail running, bicycling, and kayaking, with a final running sprint back to the finish line.
The duathlon is a off road trail run, bicycle and off road trail run to the finish.
Try Simsbury, CT at a different pace! The New & Improved “Try Simsbury” Meadows & Adventure Triathlon/Duathlon will be held on Sunday, May 5th, 2019 at 9:00am. Originally conceived of by town volunteers in an effort to encourage athletic tourism, persuading folks to “Try” Simsbury, the triathlon highlights Simsbury’s wonderful outdoor assets, including numerous hiking trails, the wild and scenic Farmington River, and terrific bike paths and trails.
A triathlon beginning with a 5k trail run, followed by a 12mile road cycling and a 2mile kayaking with a final strong run back to the finish line. The duathlon is a 5k trail run, a 12 mile road bike with a 5k trail run to the finish. Participants can compete on their own or with friends on a team. Male, Female and Co-Ed prizes will be awarded. Individual prizes awarded to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Overall Males/Females and in the following age groups: 18&U, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49,50-59, 60+.
