135M To The House

Bakersfield, CA

The 135 mile route will take you from Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House, located by the Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, and will take you to the Central Valley Ronald McDonald House located by Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera. We will limit this race to 20 solo runners and 20 teams.

On Sept 27th-28th 2014 we are happy to be hosting the 135 mile Bakersfield to Central Valley Ronald McDonald House Benefit Relay & Ultra Marathon.  This event was started last year when Ed Ettinghausen, Rudy Montoya, Leigh Moser, and David Thull ran the route from Bakersfield to Madera and raised almost $10,000.00 for the Bakersfield and Central Valley Ronald McDonald House. The journey was so much fun they want to do it again…so come and join us!

We would like to invite you to join us in our efforts to raise money for the Bakersfield and Central Valley Ronald McDonald House. We have two exciting options for this years event.  You can run the entire distance solo or put together a 4-8 person relay team.

Relay Teams: The relay teams will consist of 4-8 runners.  We are asking that on top of the race entry that the teams all fundraise $500.00 for the Ronald McDonald House. If for some reason you can not meet the fundraising goal you can put in volunteer hours at a Ronald McDonald House in your area.

The relay teams will have a staggered start time. The slower teams will start earlier than the faster teams. Our goal is to have all the relay teams finish by Sunday Sept the 28th at 2:00pm. Please do your best at estimating an honest finishing time.

135 mile solo runners: We are asking that you fundraise $150.00 on top of your entry fee.  If you can not meet this fundraising goal you can put in volunteer hours at your local Ronald McDonald House.  Anyone interested in running the 135 mile distance will also need to have completed a 100 mile event in the last 12 months.  Pacers will be allowed after mile 50.
