Community Bible Fellowship Church is organizing it Annual Gracing in The Grove Fundraiser Event on August 27, 2016 in Downtown Locust Grove, Georgia. At the event we will have a 5K Fun Run/Walk, BBQ Competition, and a Car & Bike Show. This event’s campaign goal is to raise funds for our community outreach programs. Our community outreach programs are designed to help deserving children experience an enriching Christmas and encourage academic achievement in school. We are only able to do this through the support of kind-hearted people like you.
Over the past ten years Community Equipping Outreach ministry has fulfilled its mission to help deserving children in our community, ensuring their needs and wants are met for Christmas. The ministry also celebrates their hard work in school by giving gifts and a special celebration event to those that have achieved academic accomplishments, those that are moving forward from one school level to the next and those that are graduating from high school and college. Through the wonderful partnerships formed over the years we have been able to touch the lives of over 1,100 children and their families.
Our goal this year is to help provide a memorable Christmas to least 120+ children for our 12th year during our Community Christmas Program. Each October the school system, local churches and the community provide us with the names of needy families. Each family must go through a screening process to ensure they qualify for this program. Once approved the parent is contacted to determine the child’s needs and their wish list items. It costs $350.00 per child to put on this event. In order for the child to receive their gifts, the parent(s) and child must attend our Mingle with Community Service (A service design for us to get to know the families we are helping and for the families to know we are there for them more than just for Christmas) and the Community Christmas Program. At the program we provide a short encouraging message, serve them a banquet lunch and provide the parents with a small gift. Each child that attends gets to visit with Santa where they receive their gifts and a goody bag.
