2020 Run for Education Fundraising Challenge
Make a donation or create a fundraising team in honor or memory of an administrator, teacher, student, graduate, family member or friend.
Your support of the Surry County Schools Educational Foundation creates new and exciting opportunities for students inside and outside of the classroom. All donors will be listed on the Educational Foundation website and in the Educational Foundation Annual Report.
Our programs include:
- Enhanced Learning Mini Grants - The Surry County Schools Educational Foundation Board of Directors supports this program to help educators fund creative and innovative learning opportunities with a focus on STEM education, reading level achievement, and/or the arts.
- Professional Development Allotment - The Professional Development Allotment program funds opportunities for teachers of all grades to be life-long learners. The allotment covers travel, registration fees, and supply costs for conferences.
- Schools Benefit from Allotments - All schools in the Surry County Schools System benefit from foundation funds. Past needs have been physical education class materials, STEM supplies, band clinics for students, chorus expenses, new sound systems, and registration fees.
- STEMmersion Program - STEMmersion program connects classroom instruction to business and industry needs. Surry County Schools teachers have the opportunity to spend time in local businesses learning how science, technology, engineering and math are applied in real-world, authentic situations. The funding from this project comes from Career and Technical Education funds and the Surry County Schools Educational Foundation.
- Transportation Allotment - The Transportation Allotment covers transportation costs for local school field trips to the Andy Griffith Playhouse, the Historic Earle Theater, the Science Institute at Meadowview Magnet Middle School, the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History, and school-to-school.
